Life a little Chaotic??? An Update!

It has been a little crazy around here lately! Aubree was sick all last week with the fever/rash virus........... I hate the word VIRAL when you take them to the doctor! She was extremely clingy and whiny all week, which led to me getting nothing done for our big move! This morning she woke up sooooo happy and rash free!!! I am so glad to see my precious little girl smiling again! I also finally weaned Aubree two weeks ago in preparation for our upcoming cruise. I was sad, but she transitioned fine!!
Anderson is just super whiny these days due to no sickness at all!!! :) ... maybe just being a 5 year old! It's really getting to me! Maybe after the move, things will get better. He argues with every thing we say and doesn't like to take no for an answer!!! But, of course I still love him to pieces!!! It's just exhausting! On the positive side, he really loves school and is getting so much better at writing. He gets lots of practice since he has to write his name on all of his work... Probably takes him a little longer than his classmates to write his long name!
Grayson has become quite the little talker lately! He is so super smart and amazes me everyday! He has fallen in love with puzzles in the last week and does them constantly! We are so proud of him!
Anderson and Grayson seem to be really excited about the move. Anderson had to make a countdown chain to hang in his room. I really hope that they like the new house and transistion well.
On to the move!
Our house is in the biggest mess right now preparing for our move. There is no need to clean it, since the inspection and appraisal are over. Our offical move date is this Saturday, but we will be getting the keys earlier in the week and plan on moving some things before Saturday. We close on our house on the 15th and then we are off that weekend to the Clemson/Wake Forest game and then to Miami for our MUCH needed vacation!
Congrats if you made it this far!! Off to more packing!

Good Bye Guiding Light.. Dear Friend!

I can remember very vividly in my childhood spending the 3:00 hour with my mom glued to CBS watching "her" soap, Guiding Light! I learned a lot about the world growing up watching it! I remember being about 8 or 9 years old and being so upset that Reva and Josh couldn't stay happy. I asked mom why things just couldn't work out for people in Springfield. She proceeded to tell me if everyone was happy, then there wouldn't be any thing to watch the show for! I continued to watch our soap through middle school, high school, and college when I had the chance. I wasn't ever able to watch it while I was teaching, but caught right back up to it once I was a stay-at-home mom. In the last year, since life has been so busy I haven't had the chance very often to sit down and watch it, but I have caught back up with it in these last few weeks. You know you can go a few years without watching one, and in one or two episodes know everything that has gone on since you quit watching it!!! Today Guiding Light will be over! CBS pulled the plug on it after 72 years! I will miss you dear friend and thanks for the memories for me and my mom and for introducing me to some of life's lessons.

Three New Posts

I am WAY behind on blogging. Check out my three new "brief" posts! More to come soon from the busy, busy family!

Clemson

We took Anderson to our first Clemson home game on the 5th and he had so much fun! He has several things he has to do when at Clemson and one was ringing the bell with daddy. He also loves to go across the bridge at the library and ride the elevator near Riggs (daddy's home away from home while at Clemson). I guess I forgot that I had my camera, because I only got three pictures all day long! Hoping the Tigers can rebound from the heartbreaking loss last Thursday and have a great season! We are going solo this weekend to see them play BC... Go Tigers!

Outside Pictures of the New House

I took mom to look at the house a few weeks ago and took my camera to get some pics of the outside and inside of the house, but my camera died after I got the outside ones... So inside pictures will have to wait until we have our things in it and it looks a little more like ours! I'm a little scared about snakes in this yard... I've been having mini panic attacks about what I would do when I see one! I'm not used to all of that "nature" around a house...

First Day of Preschool

Anderson started 4 year old preschool on the 8th and so far loves it! It's more like real school than last year. Last year was mostly play and social skills, and this year he has a desk (table) and homework!!! It's just tracing letters I think. He's supposed to get his homework folder today, so we'll see what he thinks about it then! He has some friends in his class this year from last, so it was an easy move to the 4's! He was so super proud of the lunch box that Mattie embroidered for him.. as you can see in his pictures! What's too cute is the whole time Anderson is at school Grayson is saying... Bro Bro... miss him!!! They really do love each other! :)

Thoughts on Clemson GT Game from DH

Trying to be as objective as possible but I didn't get my heart to stop racing until 1:00 AM this morning after the game. Watched the Steelers win, a Simpsons, and a Good Eats and I was still ticked about the holding call from that retarded ref. Why does it seem that its only Clemson that gets these crap calls at the biggest point in the game? Yes, the personal foul on GT was suspect, but it was in the 2nd quarter and we were down by 17 points. And, yes, the make up for the holding call was made on the next set of downs for GT, but the fact is it didnt change the game the way our horrendous call did. It's really hard for me to think these guys arent paid off instead of believing their poor decisions are due to gross ineptitude and unwarranted caprices! Oooh, I haven't thrown a flag in a long time...I better throw one...now. Anyway, thats it for me. Sorry to disappoint you ladies if you were looking for what Amy bought at Ikea yesterday.

A New Place to Call Home

We got the final word yesterday that we got the rental house that we searched for this weekend. I went into panic mode after we accepted the offer Friday night until we found somewhere for our family to live. I'm a super huge planner (a.k.a. Control Freak) so until I knew where my family was going to sleep on October 15th I couldn't sleep myself. We knew we wanted to rent in South Carolina and didn't know if it would be in Fort Mill or Lake Wylie. We also knew we couldn't get any lease shorter than one year, so that would put Anderson starting school in which ever district we rented in. There's tons of houses to rent in Steele Creek, but that's not the same for York County. There's lots of apartments and townhouses, but with three kids I'd rather poke my eyeballs out than live cooped up like that and sharing walls with someone... Those days were over long ago. We searched the Internet tirelessly, drove around, and made lots of phone calls Saturday and Sunday. We walked through a home in Lakeshore (that would put Anderson going to FM schools) that was just downright GROSS! It was nice on the outside, but I was scared what the kids may have "caught" while being there. It was only six years old like our home, and after walking through it ours is in immaculate shape! Never, ever would I have paid $5 to live there! So on we went. We were supposed to look at one in Tega Cay and someone else beat us to it and decided they wanted it, which was ok... We drove by it and I don't think we would have lived there anyway. So an agent that was checking into a home in River Hills that I had spoken with Sunday morning called me back and told me it was still available and wanted to know if we wanted to look at it......... Of course... now we are feeling pretty desperate! I know I have 6 1/2 weeks... but control freak was setting in!!! We met the agents at First Properties and drove in River Hills behind them. We had seen the pictures online and knew it was an older home that hadn't been renovated, but since it's in such a nice community we wanted to see it anyway. It has 2850 square feet (1100 more than we currently have) and is straight out of the 70's, but it's the one we are now going to call home for a while! Brandon said when we walked in he was waiting on Eric, Donna, Fez, Kelso and the gang from That 70's Show to come walking out!!!! Maybe we'll just have to throw a 70's Disco Party... now wouldn't that be fun! So Anderson will start kindergarten at Crowder's Creek next fall...!
