It's Ours... The payment anyway!!

We finally closed on the house on May 21st, and I don't think I have taken a deep breath since. We have been busy, busy, busy since with hanging light fixtures (Ryan homes don't come with a lot of fixtures already), hanging blinds, painting and moving some things. Aubree's room is painted, light fixture up and curtains made by yours truly are hung! I think it turned out just beautiful and I'm pretty proud of my first attempt to sew something for home decorating purposes. Grayson's fan is up and I just got done painting his room. His curtains are currently in Anderson's room at the rental, so they will be put up the day we actually move in. I will post a picture of it once the curtains are up. Half of Anderson's room is painted and we are going to try to finish the two red walls of it in the next few days. Needless to say, we are tired, but excited to be making progress. I just wanted to blog a minute to let everyone know we haven't fallen off the face of the earth!!!!

Aubree enjoying the playroom

Most of the toys are moved since we are spending so much time over here

Toy room is pretty bland right now, but in time I'll come up with some decorating ideas for it
Aubree's Room with light, paint and curtains (they just need to be hemmed)

I WONDER Why?

I wonder why she gets hurt! I am sitting here feeling like C R A P and Aubree has made up a new game that she's quite fond of. I think I got the "bug" that's been going around. I'm just miserable, but not miserable enough to move two inches to grab the camera and catch this! If I were a more responsible parent, I would not let her do this, but sometimes kids have to be kids right????

Step 1: Starting pose (getting ready for gymnastics)

Step 2: Jump as high as you can! (I had to post both of the action shots, b/c they were so funny)

Hang Ten Baby!

Step 3: Landing and say "cheese" for the camera~

Maybe I'll get more responsible when I feel better!

You Should See the Other Guy!

Now that I have my blog back (I may have to change my password... hehe)....
My little gal has her first shiner! She actually got into a fight with Jenn's high top table chair on Saturday and by the looks of her the chair won! She climbed up the back of it, before anyone saw her and it fell back on her with her head hitting the hardwood floor. She cried a lot and went to sleep within minutes of falling. She wouldn't wake up to let me look at her pupils, so we had to make her mad and keep bugging her to wake up. Her pupils were fine, but she was just really tired and I'm sure had a bad headache.
She's gotten multiple comments while out with me and the boys. People automatically see her with two big brothers and think they must have something to do with it! She did match her dress on Sunday at church though. It was blue with red and white sailboats, just like her red, white and blue eye!

8 Days Til Closing

Just adding a few pics of the home. (Posted by Brandon)

Master Bath. Check out the 120 and cable outlet in the corner for my 6:00 AM ESPN...Sweet. I haven't bought the TV yet but they keep getting fancier...ESPN in 3D? Hmmmmm. Maybe Fox News Rising with Anna K....just kidding. You guys know I'm not a blonde fan. If I were, I wouldn't know any of you crazy blog readers.

Kitchen. Looking pretty good. Lots of cabinet doors being replaced due to poor efforts from the tile company to protect them when they did their work. We are adding our own appliances because I get a break on "high end" stuff from Duke. I say "high end" because I am not trying to be a pompous idiot. We just had "low end" stuff at Greybriar and that crap broke every year and the dishwasher was so loud, I think it is what made Anderson sleep with us for the first 13 months of his life...or maybe we just didn't know what we were doing. Either way, the stainless steel should be dented within the first month and Amy will finally agree that we should have stuck with the black appliances.

Exterior. We can tell sod is going to die if they don't water it! With the weeds we had at Greybriar, we are not going to stand for it here. If Derek sees this he will know what I mean since his friend Eddie was popping him with our 4 foot tall weeds in the back yard.

While Im posting check out this coaster Derek and I are jumping on in less than 3 weeks: 420 feet, 120+ mph. I like comparing it to the Wachovia "Jukebox" building in Charlotte because of the round top (but its about 580 feet tall). If you live in Charlotte, its the same height as Wachovia I (now 400 South Tryon - the white building with the beautiful gold windows).

Bye Bye Baby Blue

Our shutters and door are now the correct color and I'm very happy with the way they turned out. With our builder, you pick from small samples of colors, so you really have no idea how it will all look together until it's done. Our columns and trim were also painted, so we are one step closer to it being done. Now time for the iron railing!
